Cancellation Policy for Tourists and Guides
This Cancellation Policy outlines the rules for canceling tours booked through Tourista, a platform connecting tourists with local guides in destinations like NYC, Spain, Morocco, Algeria, France, and Japan. Booking and Cancellation Rules
When booking a tour through Tourista, the following policies apply to ensure a smooth experience:
- Booking Confirmation: Tourists must pay for tours through the app using secure payment methods (credit/debit cards or digital wallets). Payment confirms the booking.
- Cancellation by Tourists: Tourists can cancel with a 100% refund up to 24 hours before the tour date. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable unless agreed otherwise by the guide.
- Cancellation by Guides: If a guide cancels, tourists will receive a full refund, and Tourista will assist in finding a replacement guide if requested.
- No-Show Policy: If a tourist does not show up for a booked tour, no refund will be issued. If a guide does not show up, the tourist will receive a full refund and a $20 credit toward a future tour.
Guide Cancellation and Rejection Process
Guides have specific responsibilities when it comes to accepting, rejecting, or canceling a tour:
- Before Acceptance: If a guide has not yet accepted a tour request, they have the right to reject it. Upon rejection, the tourist will be notified via a message in the app, and the tourist will receive a 100% refund automatically.
- After Acceptance: Once a guide accepts a tour, they cannot cancel it directly. The guide must contact Tourista support to request cancellation. Tourista will review the request and, if approved, notify the tourist, issue a 100% refund, and assist in finding a replacement guide if requested. Unauthorized cancellations by guides may result in account suspension.
How to Cancel a Tour
To cancel a tour, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Tourista account on the app or website.
- Go to your bookings and select the tour you’d like to cancel.
- If it’s more than 24 hours before the tour date, you’ll receive a 100% refund automatically.
- If it’s within 24 hours, contact the guide directly through the app to discuss options, or reach out to our support team at touristanyc.com/contact for assistance.
